The ECTS system initially divided students between pass and fail groups and then assessed the performance of these two groups separately. Are 1-year European Master´s (60 ECTS) always recognized as "Official Master’s" among jobs/academic institutions around the world? Do they always fit the academic requirements to start PhD studies? from AskAcademia
I´d like to do a 1-year Master´s in Europe (60 ECTS), but if I confirm that they won´t be taken very seriously or won´t even be recognized as « official » in order to start PhD studies, then I´d pick 90 ETCS or 120 ECTS to avoid that risk.
